gone fishin'

Sorry for the lack of updates. I’m on vacation.

One of the aspects I love most about my health coaching program is that it’s holistic, meaning it takes all areas of your life into account when addressing your health. This vacation is good for my (and my husband’s) health, no doubt.

The hubby and I decided to take an Epic Road Trip, now dubbed our third honeymoon! We planned it in about three days and left on Thursday.

We’re already 1500 miles into the trip and have a few days to go. I have a zillion photos, have visited with family and friends, and have driven through rain and sun, gravel roads and interstates, forests and fields. It’s absolutely wonderful.

When we first started dating we took a road trip out to Denver to visit my (now) husband’s college roommate. Then I turned my drive from Minneapolis to San Diego into a road trip late last summer. This is the best one yet.

What’s the best road trip you’ve ever been on?

Sounds like a lovely time…husband and I drive everywhere, even if it’s a 10 hour drive. My favorite with him has been the drive from Maryland to Maine, there isn’t a more beautiful destination in my opinion! Enjoy the rest of your trip :)

Before you and Sara were born, Dad and I took a motorcycle trip from the end of the school year in early June until just before workshop started in late August and went out West. We visited friends and family, went gliding with Uncle Brian in Salt Lake City, saw the Grand Canyon, crossed the desert overnight when it was under 100 degrees, drove up Highway 1 from Laguna Beach to Puget Sound via Oakland, SF, Hearst Castle, Pendleton Woolen Mills, etc, ate seafood at most meals!, ferried over to Vancouver Island and hiked around a mountain in Glacier Park with our friends from Laramie. It was our first Really Great Adventure. Want to compare pictures?

Just under a year into my husband and my relationship, we drove from Indiana, where we met and were living, to New Mexico to visit my family. On the way out, we stopped at the St. Louis arch, the Titanic Oil Man in Tulsa, and Palo Duro Canyon in Texas. On the way back, we camped in Rocky Mountain National Park.

Ah, the good ol’ days, when we weren’t bound by vacation time… (Of course, we also had no money.)

My family “did” the western US on an epic motorhome trip in the summer of 1997. Grand Canyon, Pacific Coast Highway, Golden Gate Bridge, redwoods, Mt St Helens, Yellowstone… It was really cool although I have a strong aversion to RVs to this day!!
