happy thanksgiving!

by Stacy

I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving. We did.

My mother-in-law made us a wonderful breakfast to start the day. In the afternoon we all packed up and headed to my aunt and uncle’s house to enjoy a plethora of food and good company.

My parents and my in-laws live about 25 miles apart, and after a few years of trying to split holidays or eating three Thanksgiving dinners in a row we figured out that it’s much easier for our two smallish families to celebrate holidays together. Everyone gets along and has a wonderful time, and today was no different.

I’m thankful for so much. A few things I’m thankful for include: my family and friends, finally feeling at home in two states, my amazing and supportive husband, good health, and the opportunity to spend time with our families this week.

I’m also thankful for all of you who read this blog. Some of you are my relatives, some of you I have never met, but I still consider you all friends. Whether you comment regularly, email me, or have never made a peep at all, I’m glad you’re here.

If you don’t want to comment, consider trying this exercise: each night when you go to bed, take a moment to list 2 or 3 things for which you are grateful. End each day on a positive note, and see how you feel. Thanksgiving shouldn’t be the only time we give thanks for what we have, should it?

What are you thankful for this year? How was your Thanksgiving? Are you going shopping on Black Friday?

I’m thankful I get to see you at Christmas!! (It’ll be our THIRD time getting to see each other this year – pretty good for living several thousand miles apart!!)
