salad-to-be

by Stacy

Minnesota is having this lovely cold front moving through, so it feels more like September than July. Lucky for me, my lettuce loves it! Despite my late planting, it still hasn’t bolted.

That’s especially good since I plan to make it into a salad to take to a party later. Also important:

farmer's market haul, july 18

Bunches of red and white onions ($1/bunch), so-called “ugly” tomatoes ($1.75/pound), and about 2.5 pounds of local cucumbers ($3) came from the farmer’s market this morning. Some feta cheese from Wisconsin came from the grocery store, but will top off the veggies in a nice Greek salad. Yum.
