So far this week, I’ve made yogurt (with my new freeze-dried yogurt cultures!) and bread. With evening rehearsals, dinner hasn’t been a priority, but I am always flagging new recipes that catch my eye. When I scrolled back through them, I discovered a lot of desserts, but there are plenty of others!
- Corn Tortillas from Simply Recipes
- Arancini (a Sicilian staple!) from TheKitchn
- Pizza Blanco also from TheKitchn
- Chile Pea Puffs from 101 Cookbooks (which in turn makes me search for directions on homemade wonton wrappers)
- Spring Onion Pancakes from fresh365
- Spicy Chickpea Patties now that I finally found a place to buy garbanzo flour (also for Sicilian panelle)
Oh, and I still want to make barbecue sauce. Which will require making buns! If only our apartment building hadn’t posted water shut off notices from 9am-4pm for the THIRD TIME THIS WEEK, implying that Thursday will, in fact, be a day with no water. That sounds like a bad day to cook. Sigh.

The water’s off again?!?! Ours seems to be finally fixed, thank goodness….
Well, they posted another notice, but I washed my hands this morning after 9am, so I’m not sure what the deal is. Siiiiiigh. Such a pain. It’s like when I woke Anderson up to go get our engagement photos taken, and our old apartment had drained the boiler with no warning so there was no water in the shower. FUN!
