We moved last weekend, so when I went to pick up our CSA share, my mother commented that she and my husband didn’t think I would take pictures this round.
They were wrong. I just didn’t post them for over a week. Here’s what we got!
Some recipe suggestions:
- This Warm Red Cabbage Salad is still one of my favorite things ever.
- Pickles! Lots of pickles.
- Asian Broccoli Slaw uses broccoli, cabbage, and carrots.
- The Antonhi peppers are a Romanian sweet pepper and would work nicely in a Romesco sauce
- I ate a whole bowl of those Padron peppers last night, blistered in a cast iron pan with olive oil, sprinkled with salt and pepper. They’re also great in eggs.
- Chunks of carrot, some diced onion, a diced squash, some cubed tempeh, and a few chopped chard leaves topped with a poached or lightly fried egg make a fabulous breakfast hash. Add a splash of sriracha to really kick it up.
- Can’t use your mint fast enough? Toss a few sprigs in a pitcher of water.
- Micro basil is a beautiful finish to a salad, pasta dish, omelet or scramble, almost anything with tomatoes…

I love how you label your photos – very polished and professional!
Thanks, Liz! That’s about the extent of my “graphic design” capabilities. 😉
oooh let me know what you do with the swiss chard! we just planted some seeds in our garden today and – fingers crossed – will have tons of it soon… but i’ve never had it before.
What bountiful treasures! The carrots are especially stunning.

I want that box of micro basil. I would put it on top of a tuna tartare. And those eight-ball squash are adorable!!!
Way to prove your husband and your mother wrong.
