Interesting articles about food:
- Out of the Kitchen, Onto the Couch by Michael Pollan
- Is the Recession Boosting Home Cooking? [Not Yet] by Mark Bittman
- Food as a Feminist Act by Katie from The World as Meditation
The latter two articles reference the former.
First, Michael Pollan talks about the new movie Julie & Julia, treading on why people (specifically women) don’t cook and why they (women and men) should. It’s a bit long and I’m not sure I agree with several large segments, but it was an interesting read.
Mark Bittman succinctly addresses whether or not more people are cooking at home due to the economy.
Last, Katie discusses her reaction to the Pollan article with some other critical links included.
I’m too sleepy to include much commentary, so I will think on it and may add some thoughts later. Off to bed!
